2014 CANSA Shavathon

The Langabaan community came out in full force to support the 2014 CANSA Shavathon, which took place at Club Mykonos on Friday, 28 February and Saturday the 1st of March. Over 150 people flocked to the resort to shave, spray or stencil their hair in support of CANSA. This was the third consecutive year that Club Mykonos has played host to the annual fundraising event.

“This year’s CANSA Shavathon was well-supported by our local community and the Mykonos Offshore participants. We would like to thank everyone who came down to support this worthy cause. It was heartening to see people, both young and old, enthusiastically getting their hair shaved or sprayed to show solidarity with people affected by cancer.

“All proceeds raised through the CANSA Shavathon event at Club Mykonos will be donated to the local arm of CANSA so that local people affected by the disease will benefit from the fundraiser. Without the contributions and support from the local community this event would never reach its full potential,” says Club Mykonos’s Marketing Manager, Michelle Goldschmidt hopes more people will use the resort to showtheir support for CANSA.

In addition to the donations received from individuals at the Shavathon, donations were received by caring Langebaan-based businesses. The Mykonos Casino, a longtime supporter of CANSA, donated R 4,000 towards the 2014 Shavathon.
