Charity Golf Day

Mykonos Raises R160,000 in Aid of Farm Animal Drought Relief

On Wednesday, 30 May 2018, Tsogo Sun’s Mykonos Casino hosted a charity golf day at the Langebaan Country Estate, in aid of farm animal drought relief.

The initiative, in support of the local farming community, saw 96 participants partake in the golf day. The day included fun wet holes, marketing holes and the opportunity to enter a massive raffle. Some of the amazing prizes included a variety of local restaurant vouchers, La Vita Spa vouchers, prizes from Langebaan Spar, the Weslander, Betterbond, Chas Everitt and Pick n’ Pay.

Prizes were also given to the best-dressed, with the theme of the day being farm style.

A total of R160,000 was raised, with R50,000 of the amount donated by the West Coast Community Trust. All funds have been donated to Kaap Agri, who will distribute the funds to a government-approved list of local drought-stricken farms.

“Mykonos would like to thank all of the sponsors and participants, some of whom came from afar, and local support who made this such a fun and worthy event,” says Clive van Groeningen, General Manager of Mykonos Casino (and trustee of West Coast Community Trust).
